City of Bath

As part of our ongoing work in Bath we were asked to develop an interpretation strategy. One of the core objectives of the project was to create a system that was grounded in Bath's rich past and status as a world heritage destination. It was also essential that interpretation was linked into the wider information system to support Bath's aspiration to become one of the UK's most walkable cities.

An important consideration was minimising excessive clutter to the heritage streetscape. We explored ways of delivering rich and meaningful interpretative content via more diverse methods such as hand held devices, while being careful not to exclude different user groups.

Our over arching aim was to uncover and tell the story of a Bath that will create intrigue, foster learning and inspire exploration, creating a narrative that connects audiences and establishes the city's future using its past heritage.
